Subtracting Fields

6 posts in this topic

I need to subtract one field from another.  How do I do that?  Both fields are entered as positive values.

Thanks,

Ron

Hi Ron,

I am sorry that our program does not support subtraction. We will have further consideration of your suggestion.

But our program supports to set sum, product and others. After opening your PDF form in our program, please click the Form>Form Edit button, then double-click the field, click the Calculate tab to choose the option of "Value is the..." to choose the correct calculation as you want.

Thanks

Hi Kimberly,

I am sorry that our program dose not support to set subtraction. However, you can enter the negative number in the field like this: -2, then set Sum to calculate the fields. Then when it sum the negative number, it will be the same to subtract the positive number.

Thanks

A subtraction option would be very usefull for tax forms. Most tax forms says "The result of field X is Field_A-Field_B" but none of Field_A or Field_B are negative numbers and on those forms negative numbers are not allowed.

Also a tax calculator would be nice too, or the ability to add a function on a numeric field like "(<my_field_1> x 19) / 100"
