Text behind image

8 posts in this topic

Hello,

I'm using the trial of PDFelement and the OCR module, and while the OCR does seem to perform quite well and I like the other features (combining PDFs, rearranging pages, etc.), what I'm trying to do is perform OCR on my scanned PDF and have that recognized text as a layer behind the image.  This way I can search the PDF and select text for copying while still looking at the actual scanned image, not the OCR replaced text.

Is this possible with PDFelement and its OCR module?

Hi Troy,

I am sorry that our OCR does not support to recognize text as a layer behind the image currently.  But I have forwarded your need to our product manager for further consideration.

Thanks.

Hi Daphne,

Like Troy, I'd be really interested in retaining the original look of the PDF document and have the text layered underneath, for copying, pasting, and searching.

Do you know if there are any plans to add this to PDFelement?
