OCR for equation based text

4 posts in this topic

Using the free trial, I was testing out the OCR function on some scanned pages from a book. For regular text it worked great and was easy to use. In addition, the program layout and functionality is great. However I noticed that it did not interpret equations well. (in particular integrals) I would be interested in buying the full version if it could do mathematical script as that would be mostly what I would use it for. If there is an existing add-on or extension that helps with this I would be interested in learning more about using it. Else, it might be something to consider for future updates.

I would be even more impressed if I could use a script like Latex to edit and copy the equations.

Thanks,

Kelsey Wiebe

Hi Kelsey,

Do you mean after performing OCR, the result of equations is not well? If so, please attach your original PDF file here or send it to our email address: pdfelement@wondershare.com for further tests.

I am sorry that our program does not support script currently, but I have forwarded your suggestion to the development team and we will keep improving the program.

Thanks
