Exclude image from OCR

3 posts in this topic

Newsletters I scan contain some images on the title page that I would like to exclude from the document before I OCR it. I can start the OCR from page 2, but this omits the entire first page including the text it contains.  I would like to be able to OCR the first page, excluding a portion of it.  I haven't been able to find a way to do this.  Any suggestions?

I suggest either to do OCR then edit the PDF and remove the image or use photo editor to crop the image removing the image then use OCR

Hi Thomas,

You can have a try of the suggestion that Tarek provided, either to OCR the entire PDF file, then remove the unwanted part, or you can crop the first page to remain the wanted part, then insert this page back with the rest pages to perform OCR.

Thanks
